About Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Red Sands Psychiatry is now offering group Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) sessions for adolescents and adults! What is DBT? DBT is all about coping more effectively with hard emotions, addictive behaviors, relationship struggles, and more.

In six, weekly sessions, we’ll focus on four primary skills: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Groups will be held in a safe, open space led by Kimberly Benson, our in-house clinical social worker. We will be holding small groups (6-7 people) for teenagers (ages 14-18) and adults.

Through these four focus areas, group members can more effectively address problem areas such as:

     -Anxiety

     -Depression

     -Self Harm and Suicidal Ideation

     -Substance Abuse

     -Relationship Issues and Attachment

     -Defiant Behaviors

     -Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence

     - And Many More
